A consultancy mission for the Belgian TSO, early on in Thomas' professional career, sparked a general interest for energy market. This resulted in Thomas joining Engie in 2010. Over the years, Thomas has held various & diverse positions within the company, allowing him to have a broad understanding of the complex energy markets.
As Business controller & head of Finance, he played a key role in setting up and developing Engie's bulk commodity trading activities. As IT project manager, he has been responsible for professionalizing the German energy management activities (power dispatching, ancillary services and intraday trading).
Around 2019, Thomas decided to move away from energy trading and focus on renewable energy. Next to the development of 'as-a-service' large-scale solar projects, Thomas is today actively involved in diversifying and upgrading Engie's renewable service portfolio, both through integration of new technologies (such as storage) and the development of new innovative business models.
